Terms and Conditions: Chopstix x Karate Kid: Legends Competition

 

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING. BY ENTERING THIS COMPETITION, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS.

1. Promoter

The promoter of this competition is Chopstix Restaurant Limited (“Chopstix”, “Promoter“, “we“, “us“, or “our“).

2. Eligibility

2.1 The competition is open to legal residents of the United Kingdom aged 14 and over at the time of entry.
 2.2 Entrants under the age of 18 must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before participating. Proof of such consent must be provided upon request.
 2.3 Employees, agents, contractors, or consultants of Chopstix, its subsidiaries, associated companies, or anyone professionally connected with the competition, and their immediate family members, are excluded from entry.
 2.4 Internet access and a valid personal TikTok OR Instagram (“platforms”) account are required to enter.

3. Competition Period

The competition will open at 9AM GMT on 16th May 2025 and will close at 5PM GMT on 20th June 2025 (“Competition Period”).

Entries submitted outside of the Competition Period will not be accepted.

4. How to Enter

4.1 To enter the competition, participants must:

  • Record a short video (maximum 30 seconds) showcasing any form of karate-related actions, including but not limited to karate moves, gestures, poses or any other karate-related actions;

  • Upload the video publicly to a personal account on any mentioned platforms;
  • Include the hashtag #ChopstixKarateKidLegends in the video caption;

4.2 Entrants may only submit one entry. Multiple entries will result in disqualification.

4.3 All entries must be the original work of the entrant. By entering, participants warrant that their submission does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

5. Entry Requirements

5.1 Entries must:

  • Be suitable for public dissemination;

  • Not contain any obscene, offensive, or unlawful material;
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the applicable social media platform.

5.2 Entries that do not comply with these requirements may be disqualified at the Promoter’s sole discretion.

6. Prizes

6.1 The prizes available are:

  • One (1) Grand Prize Winner: £500 cash prize, a pack of Chopstix x Karate Kid: Legends merchandise, and £500 worth of Chopstix Points.

  • Four (4) Runners-Up: £125 cash prize, a pack of Chopstix x Karate Kid: Legends merchandise, and £250 worth of Chopstix Points.

6.2 Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be offered except at the sole discretion of Chopstix.

6.3 Chopstix reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value if circumstances beyond its control make it necessary to do so.

7. Winner Selection and Notification

7.1 Entries will be judged based on creativity, enthusiasm and effort by a Chopstix representative.

7.2 Winners will be selected and notified by direct message & comment on social media within 14 working days of the Competition Period ending.

7.3 Winners must confirm acceptance of the prize within 10 working days of notification. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternative winner.

7.4 Chopstix’s decision regarding any aspect of the competition, including the judging and award of prizes, is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 By entering, entrants grant Chopstix a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, edit, publish, and display their entry (including name, likeness, and social media handle) in any media (now known or later developed) for any purpose related to this competition, without further payment or compensation.

8.2 Entrants acknowledge that they retain copyright in their submitted content, subject to the license granted to Chopstix.

9. Data Protection and Privacy

9.1 Personal data provided will be processed by Chopstix for the purpose of administering this competition in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

9.2 The following personal data will be collected: name, email address, and link to the competition entry.

9.3 Data will be retained for a maximum of 90 days after the competition closes, unless the entrant has provided consent to receive future marketing communications.

9.4 Entrants have the right to access, rectify, or delete their personal data or withdraw consent at any time by contacting marketing@chopstix.co.uk.

10. Liability

10.1 Chopstix accepts no responsibility for:

  • Incomplete, lost, delayed, misdirected, corrupted, or otherwise faulty entries.

  • Any damage, loss, or injury suffered by entrants participating in the competition or as a result of accepting any prize.

10.2 Chopstix does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10.3 Participants enter the competition at their own risk.

11. General

11.1 Chopstix reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the competition or these Terms and Conditions if necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

11.2 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

11.3 Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11.4 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

11.5 This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with TikTok and Instagram or any other platform.
